Corruption has plagued the Brazilian government since it was established. Its political, economic, and social costs are a heavy burden that hinders the country’s development. However, short and long-term solutions have been proposed in specialized literature and by practitioners dealing with the system’s problems daily. These solutions can be applied to the Brazilian case to dramatically reduce the level of corruption in government within the next decade. In that sense, this paper analyses ten measures to reduce corruption in the Brazilian government, aimed at tackling the impunity that plagues the judiciary system, especially concerning high-profile politicians, the underlying incentives that create corruption in the political system, and the cultural aspects embedded in Brazilian society that lead to tolerance and lack of oversighten_US
