Description from Mapping Maryland: "Meyer, a German publisher, produced world and school atlases from 1830s through 1850s. This map of Baltimore may have been studied by German emigres before their departure to America. During the 1850s, Baltimore served as a major point of entry for Germans who had departed their homeland for the United States."
