Abstract
Due to the Great Recession, between 2003-2013 demand for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits doubled to 48 million participants. Despite the high dependency on the anti-hunger program, Congress has cut funding, negatively impacting enrollees' ability to purchase healthy food.
